Wakeman Grange #1399 Continues Literacy Legacy in Ohio Schools

In Wakeman, Ohio, Wakeman Grange #1399 recently distributed personal dictionaries to third grade students at both Western Reserve Elementary School and Trinity Christian Academy. This ongoing effort is part of the Grange’s participation in the Dictionary Project, a national program aimed at empowering young learners with essential language tools.

The Wakeman Grange launched its Words for Thirds initiative in 2004 and has since donated more than 2,000 dictionaries to local students. These dictionaries not only support vocabulary development and reading comprehension but also encourage curiosity and independent learning.

Grange members were warmly welcomed by students and teachers, who expressed gratitude for the meaningful gift. By helping children gain access to quality educational materials, the Wakeman Grange continues its tradition of community service and commitment to youth enrichment.
