A dictionary teaches a child how to approach a problem and use critical thinking skills by sounding out the word and finding it in the dictionary. This simple task gives them a feeling of self-confidence and satisfaction that they cannot get online.

Clinch County Lions Club Donates Dictionaries to Local Students

A big thank you to the Clinch County Lions Club for continuing their commitment to literacy by donating dictionaries to students at Clinch County Elementary School in Homerville, Georgia. This effort is part of a larger initiative in partnership with The Dictionary Project, through which 670 Lions Clubs across the country have collectively donated over 1 million dictionaries to students. These gifts serve as more than just books, they’re lifelong learning tools that help students build vocabulary, improve reading comprehension, and develop research skills. For many students, it’s the first reference book that’s truly their own. We thank you, Lions, for helping shape stronger readers and brighter futures, one dictionary at a time.
