Lewisville Morning Rotary Brings Smiles with 16,800 Dictionaries

Since 2007, the Lewisville Morning Rotary Club in Texas has partnered with The Dictionary Project to provide every third grader in the Lewisville Independent School District with their own personal dictionary. To date, the club has donated more than 16,800 dictionaries to local students.

This year’s effort kicked off with deliveries to over 900 students, each greeted with smiles and excitement. The club shared their joy on Facebook: “It is so rewarding to see the bright smiles as they write their names in their very own new books. Helping them to look up words, seeing their excitement when they find them, puts a smile on our faces.”

The project aligns with Rotary’s mission of supporting education and empowering communities. By placing a physical learning tool in students’ hands, the Lewisville Morning Rotary Club continues to make a lasting impact on literacy, curiosity, and academic confidence.
