Rotary Club of Cairo Promotes Literacy with Longstanding Dictionary Project

Since 2009, the Rotary Club of Cairo, Georgia has partnered with The Dictionary Project to provide third grade students across Grady County with personal dictionaries. Over the past 15 years, the club has gifted nearly 5,000 dictionaries, reinforcing its commitment to literacy and community service.

This annual tradition helps students expand their vocabulary, improve reading comprehension, and build confidence as independent learners. The Rotary Club’s efforts are part of a global initiative to promote basic education and literacy—a cornerstone of Rotary International’s mission.
