Summerville Oakbrook Rotary Club Donates Dictionaries to Over 550 Students

Continuing a tradition that began in 2004, the Summerville Oakbrook Rotary Club in South Carolina donated more than 550 dictionaries to third grade students at Dorchester, Sand Hill, and Beech Elementary Schools this year. To date, the club has provided over 13,200 dictionaries through its partnership with The Dictionary Project.

“We are pleased to continue our longstanding tradition of donating new dictionaries to third graders at our local schools,” said club president Jim Atkinson. “It is our contribution to their learning and development. We hope to continue this project for years to come.”

The club’s dedication to literacy ensures that every child receives a valuable learning tool—helping students grow as confident readers, writers, and thinkers.
