Wakeman Grange Promotes Literacy with Annual Dictionary Gift

Members of Wakeman Grange #1399 in Ohio recently visited Western Reserve Elementary School and Trinity Christian Academy to deliver personal dictionaries to third grade students. The visits are part of the Grange’s Words for Thirds program, a partnership with The Dictionary Project that began in 2004.

Since launching the project, Wakeman Grange has donated over 2,000 dictionaries to local students, supporting their literacy development and encouraging lifelong learning. The annual effort brings joy and educational value to the classrooms, reminding students that words—and the tools to explore them—can open doors to opportunity and understanding.
