Haskell Rotary Club Supports Student Literacy Through Annual Dictionary Donations
Since 2008, the Rotary Club of Haskell, Texas has partnered with The Dictionary Project to ensure that every third grade student at Haskell Elementary School receives their very own dictionary.
Now in its 16th year, the initiative has provided hundreds of students with this valuable educational tool. The dictionaries serve as more than just a reference, they foster curiosity, build vocabulary, and support lifelong learning.
Teachers often incorporate the dictionaries into daily classroom use, reinforcing skills in reading, writing, and research. This project exemplifies Rotary’s commitment to literacy and education, and reflects The Dictionary Project’s broader goal of encouraging students to become strong, independent learners. Through this small but powerful gesture, the Haskell Rotary Club continues to make a big difference in the lives of young learners.
