La Plata Rotary Club Delivers Dictionaries to Every Third Grader in Charles County

The La Plata Rotary Club of Charles County, Maryland continues its commitment to youth literacy by partnering with The Dictionary Project to provide a personal dictionary to every third grade student in the county.

This year, with support from the Interact Club, Rotary members organized and labeled over 2,000 dictionaries before distributing them to 28 schools across the county. The third graders were thrilled to receive a dictionary of their very own, opening doors to learning, curiosity, and independent reading.

This long-running project reflects the club’s dedication to educational service and the Rotary mission of building stronger communities through literacy and learning.
