Milford Masonic Lodge Boosts Literacy for Huron Valley Third Graders

Since 2010, Milford Masonic Lodge #165 in Michigan has partnered with The Dictionary Project to provide every third grade student in the Huron Valley School District with their own dictionary. More than 9,100 students have received this valuable learning tool to date.

This year’s distribution was another joyful success, with students thrilled to receive a book of their own. One parent shared, “Last year my son was so excited to tell me about his when I picked him up from school. He still uses it. For the most part, if he asks what something means, I tell him to get his dictionary. Thank you!”

By continuing this initiative each year, the Lodge helps students build vocabulary skills, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for learning. It’s a small gift that leaves a lasting educational impact.
