South Hinds Rotary Club Delivers Dictionaries to Third Graders in Hinds County

The South Hinds Rotary Club, in collaboration with the Hinds County School District, delivered 360 dictionaries to every third-grade student in the district, including students at Utica Elementary, Bolton Edwards Elementary, Raymond Elementary, and Gary Road Intermediate School.

This literacy initiative, part of The Dictionary Project, helps students build stronger vocabularies and communication skills. Rotarians also took the time to explain how to use a dictionary and why it’s an essential tool for academic success.

Since first joining the project in 2010, the South Hinds Rotary Club has provided over 6,600 dictionaries to local students—making a lasting impact on education and literacy in Mississippi.
