St. Jude Ladies Society Donates 3,000 Dictionaries to Escambia County Students
Since 2016, the St. Jude Ladies Society of St. Jude Catholic Church in Cantonment, Florida, has partnered with The Dictionary Project to improve student literacy across Escambia County. Each year, the group distributes dictionaries to third grade students as part of its mission to support youth education and community service.
To date, the Ladies Society has gifted more than 3K personal dictionaries, ensuring that every child reached has a valuable tool to expand their vocabulary and understanding of the world. These donations help students improve reading comprehension, spelling, and writing, giving them a stronger foundation for lifelong learning.
This initiative exemplifies how faith-based and civic organizations can work together to strengthen communities through literacy, a core mission of The Dictionary Project.
